Scarleys is our "affix" registered in Ireland and the UK at both Kennel Clubs.
We  bred Labradors formerly under the "kennel name" of Poet's Corner in Germany but unfortunately the name was not available at the KC as a very similar one already exists.
Both my husband, Peter and I run our lives around the dogs since our children are almost grown up and going their own way.
I am a fully trained dog behaviourist and have small business that runs in Ireland and Germany.
I grew up in south England, my parents owned a show jumping yard. We always had Labradors and Jack Russell Terriers and my mother bred both.
As the children were small we always had a Jack. As we were on holiday in Wales,1996,  Peter rescued a chocolate Labrador, a very poorly little thing who only lived until he was three, but taught me so much.

History
In 2000 we bought our foundation bitch from the Størupdal kennel in Denmark our beloved Chocolate Biscuit. She is a real dual purpose Labrador not good enough to show at international level after junior class, but a fantastic working test bitch with the best health and character one could possibly wish for. She produced CAC and CACIB winners in every litter, two JChs. and has progeny all over the world. She is now retired from breeding and competition, but is always the first at heel when we pick up a dummy. Her father multi Champion Tjotte's Crash Landing, William, who was owned by Heidi von Wowern, kennel Størupdal, came to us when Heidi became so ill and died suddenly in 2003. William was a very special dog with a very distinctive character, he died shortly before his 11th bithday and we miss them very much.

Out of Biscuit's first litter with Farbournes Glamour Boy we kept a chocolate bitch, All Dressed Up of Poet's Corner, Ribbons, who was not as good as her mother in the field but picked up CACs and 2 CACIBs and BOBs in the ring.

Ribbons mating with Beechcrofts's One Way Ticket produced, Fasten Seat Belts of Poet's Corner, he is a JCH and CACIB winner.  Out of her second litter with Weymouth's Harbour Master at Rooklanes, Irresistible of Poet's Corner, owned by our very good friends Jacqueline and Daniel Lack, kennel "du Vallon de la Licorne" in France has been successful in the field. Two other offspring from that mating, Incognito and Incunabula, who were both well placed at international shows. Ribbons retired from breeding 2008.

Ribbons litter sister, A Head Start of Poet's Corner, Abigail, co owned with Gaby Blöβ produced us two lovely litters. Her daughter Ch. Dark Secret of Poet's Corner, Sydney, owned by Jörg and Katherina Kaaden went on to get her Champions title and French working certificate.

In 2003 we bought two puppies from Daleabbey's in the UK. When we saw Louise and John's bitch, Chloe, we knew that we wanted a puppy from her. Although Chloe was not a showy bitch she was "just my type". She was mated to Brightwaltons Bit of Class who we considered a very promising young dog and we are so grateful to Lou and John for not just letting us have on, but two puppies out of the litter. These two puppies have become, Int. Ch. Daleabbeys A Kind of Magic Over Scarleys, Harley
and Almost Heaven Over Scarleys, Scarlett. Harley is a multi and FCI International  Champion and both have their International Working Certificates. Scarlett is a CAC and res. CACIB winner. She produced with William, Ch Kings Cross of Poet's Corner, who made his title at 21 months in Montenegro.
Harley has produced fantastically, health, character and quality. He has a number of Junior Champions in Europe and progeny that are working successfully in the field.
Some of his successful offspring include, JCh. Hidden Prospect of Poet's Corner who will hopefully be having her first litter in Germany in the near future, Black Velvet du Vallon de la Licorne, Lizzie, who we co-own with Jac and Daniel in France, had a fantastic Field Trial season winning a RCACT.
And still the very young dog Coalcoat Dyana'Lys, owned by Nathalie Matters, in France, won in Innsbrück Austria best
Junior Labrador.

Present and the future
We moved to Ireland end of August 2008 and love it here. We have a beautiful home with grounds for the dogs, only 400m from the Shannon Estuary. The beach where the dogs have their walks everyday is just 7 mins drive. As far as we are concered it's Heaven on Earth.

We are very much looking foward to watching our youngsters grown up and develope. We hope to have a couple of litters this year and some really good puppies to keep as all of our present adult bitches will go into retirement at the end of this year.

We are very proud of all our progeny and the effort that their owners have made with them.
