Show and Working Labradors We do both, and we are strong believers that the true Labrador can do both. All our dogs must have the right conformation to be shown internationally and retrieve on a shoot all day. There are always exception to the rules. But I will not run on a dog or a bitch that refuses to retrieve how ever good it might look. ![]() Their will to please, will over come any small failing that a dog might have working. The refusal to retrieve is a charachter trait that I will not accept in any of my breeding stock. The same goes for a Labrador that will not take to water, some puppies/young dogs need time but eventually they must with a little gentle persuasion. The Labrador Retriever is what his name says, a dog that searches, picks up and brings. A Gun dog that retrieves bird and hare that has been shot at his masters command. ![]()

Most of the dogs used in the UK to help the blind or handicaped people are Labradors or Golden Retrievers.

We work our dogs in a variety of areas. It all starts at the age of 10 weeks with the playful introduction to everything of importance, beginning the learn process which goes on through out his life. The Gun dog part has been take over from very good friends of mine and my husband, because I am highly allergic to rabbit and hare. Up until 2002 all our dogs trained with the Dog Search and Rescue. After we decided to put breeding, shows, dummy training and working tests to our goals. It was just not possible to do everything. If you have a satisfied dog you will be a satisfied person. |
